His unfailing dedication to support the passage of USMCA has benefited all of us and will continue to do so for years to come. His deep compassion for the suffering in Ukraine prompted his $500,000 donation to the American Red Cross for Ukrainian relief; he also set up a separate Matching Fund. He realizes his vision with integrity, diligence, and often a smile.

2022 Diolkos Recipient:
Peter Stephaich, Chairman, Campbell Transportation

While we do not know the names of the men who developed the Diolkos Wagonway, we do know that the Diolkos fueled the Ancient Economy providing reliable access to and from the lucrative markets in Athens. The Wagonway changed the fate of wars (600 B.C. – 50 A.D.). Known as the Mother of the Modern Railroad, this concept did not occur again until the 19th century. It is the first evidence of the Supply Chain linking water and land.

Annually the Diolkos Award recognizes an outstanding leader in the freight transportation sector who consistently demonstrates excellence, innovation, and integrity professionally and personally.

In September 2021, Stephaich was placed in the Rivers Hall of Fame for his outstanding, contributions in developing the network of our inland waterways system. He continues to remain actively involved in the maritime sector. Recently he expanded CTC’s business in the Gulf with the opening of their Houston office. He has long advocated on behalf of the Waterways Council, Inc. for the maintenance and repair of our river system.

THE PROGRAM

Everyone must stop at the Registration desk which opens at 7:15 AM to pick up their name tag and assigned table. Every attendee is assigned a table. Pastries, a fruit cup, and coffee are at the table. Breakfast is served at 7:40 AM. The program starts at 7:45 AM. The pizza and wine Closing Reception is 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
