BNSF Railway

Miller is responsible for the Industrial Products division of BNSF Railway, the only privately held Class One Railroad. BNSF operates in 28 states and three Canadian provinces with 32,500 route miles of track. BNSF is composed of 390 different railroad lines that have merged or were acquired during the 160 year life of the railroad.
In 2018, BNSF hauled enough steel to build 200 Empire State Buildings. This occurred as a result of the growing industrial production demand in the U.S.
BNSF is a critical player in building and sustaining the nation’s economy. In 2018, BNSF customers reported investments of more than $3,000,000,000 providing hundreds of new jobs. This is the eight consecutive year that BNSF customers and local economic development organizations have invested more than $1,000,000,000 in a calendar year for new or expanded facilities and provided. Four of the customers investing more than $229 million in 2018 are Dakota Plains, Dolese Bros Co., Kubota Tractor Corporation, and WinChill. Miller will present BNSF’s direction for the present and future.
